Happy Anniversary

When I walked down the aisle 6 years ago today to meet my best friend at the other end, I never in a million years could have predicted where we would be today. It was always fun to image where we would be in 5, 10, 15 years...

Here we are 6 years later and still very much in love. Our marriage is a testament to how great marriage can be when a couple has been faced with some pretty hard situations. The past six years have not been perfect by any stretch of the imagination. We have had our trials and struggles just like everybody else, but we have learned to look past the imperfect parts and noticed the great parts, at the same time working on our imperfections. It's amazing how people will kind of "transform" into a perfect match for the other person.

This year we aren't doing much for our anniversary. Our 1st anniversary we went to San Antonio, Texas and really had a blast. We went sightseeing, went to Six Flags, Schlitterbahn water park, Alamo, walked the Riverwalk, rented a car, stayed in a nice hotel and not to mention we took the easy way out and we flew there. I look back and I wonder, where in the heck did we have that much money to do any of THAT?!?

We made a committment that every single year on our anniversary we would take a trip somewhere to celebrate..well, that didn't happen after the first trip! Funny how life changes and priorities change. It's not about spending money on vacations and get-aways for us anymore but about being together as a family and being able to do other things in life.

This anniversary we are going to a nice dinner and a movie. Just like a boring married couple. Ha! We like to reflect on where our life is now, what we were doing 6 years ago, and how our lives would be different with the triplets. I can't imagine surviving any of our hardships without Tony. He is literally my rock. He is absolutely a nutcase sometimes and he drives me crazy the other half of the time but my love for him is like no other. We just continue to grow, learn and love.

My heart still, yes still, skips a beat every time he walks in the door. His hugs and kisses are just as special as the first hug and kiss he ever gave me. Yes, times have been hard, as no marriage I believe is perfect. We have had our differences and we have had our struggles. We have also survived. We have survived the most difficult time in anyone's life-losing two tiny babies. We held on to each other and we became strong for each other. There were times where we didn't speak one word to each other but just held on to one another in a sobbing embrace. Those moments can never be replaced.

I am so thankful for him. He made my life complete and has helped me raise the most beautiful little miracle in this world. He works so incredibly hard so that I can work part-time at home and keep our angel. I gripe about him a lot..because ya know, sometimes guys just don't get it...but seriously, I am the happiest wife in the world.
